Bordering between creepy and upbeat, New Animal consistently intrigues the listener. Containing just four songs, Up! showcases a variety of instruments, rhythms, and styles. The two experimental musicians from Atlanta create a sound that can't be categorized, ranging from mellow beach-wave rock to bass-heavy synth-pop. Using drones and computer sound effects adds a futuristic vibe to their sound (no doubt there's some Animal Collective influence here).
If you haven't heard New Animal's first album, New Animal, be sure to check it out -- fifteen beautifully crafted, genre-spanning tracks that will make you fall in love with this band.
